Davis Hall is the room the weekend arrives at rather than the one it starts in. Dinner is here. The first dance is here. The floor is the largest on the estate and it carries the largest receptions the property holds, under drapery and chandeliers, with the estate’s own tables, chairs and linens already in the room rather than on a truck.
It is six hundred and fifty feet from the deck, so the walk down happens in the last of the light, and three hundred and twenty-five feet from the cottages, so the walk up happens whenever you are ready and not when a shuttle is. Nobody leaves at eleven because nobody has anywhere to drive to.
